Oceans, Planning & Climate Change – EPLA

Abstract – The central topic of the 2018 EPLA Conference is “Oceans, Planning & Climate Change”.   Scholarly discourse has driven the debate on climate change with the majority of the world’s population living in cities.  Further, developing countries are urbanising rapidly.  Major urban centres are exposed to a number of new hazards and other factors that reduce the capacity of communities to adapt.  Efforts in understanding what is required to build resilience to climate change impact in urban areas of developing countries remains a challenge.

Willana Urban is pleased to be a sponsor of the 2018 EPLA conference and promote “resilience thinking”  in urban policy making.
